This internship in a humanitarian association in Argentina allows you to gain university credits while leaving a positive impact on the local community in Buenos Aires. It offers real teaching experience, as well as experience of international work. Discover the culture of the country through your exchanges with the local population, and integrate into a multicultural team, which will follow your progress and will be responsible for evaluating you.
The participants of this internship in humanitarian association have a choice of 4 projects according to their interests. You will work 15 hours per week with local and international volunteers depending on the project. A real commitment will be expected from you during your volunteering mission, in order to create a positive experience both for you and for the other participants. Like all of our humanitarian internship programs, the project in Argentina allows you to gain university credits while impacting the local community in a positive and lasting way.
Before committing to this project, it is important to know that the school is located in a disadvantaged area where many refugee families from neighbouring countries live. Poverty is omnipresent and children grow up in difficult conditions, surrounded by domestic violence, alcoholism, drugs, etc. The school that we support in this area is the only structure that allows young people to get by. The local teams work every day to give these children a chance and offer them a safe environment. Nevertheless, volunteers will be asked to be careful outside of school and ready to face uncomfortable situations in this context of extreme poverty.
The assignment depends on the skills and profile of the participants. A telephone interview and a registration file (CV and motivation letter) will determine the placement of the volunteers on educational projects ranging from childcare to the organisation of extracurricular activities and tutoring / assistance in schools for those with the most training.
Your time and support are needed for the survival of this neighbourhood association in the following ways:
– Tutoring
– Games and sports
– Preparation of meals or snacks
– Organising after school activities
This small school in the suburbs of Buenos Aires started from the personal initiative of a mother helped by many local volunteers. Today, donations and contributions allow this kindergarten to accommodate 3 classes of children aged 3 to 5 and to develop their intellectual and emotional skills.
A permanent teacher supervises the volunteers on artistic and sports activities (singing, drawing, workshops, games), serving meals, maintaining the premises, setting up new activities, teaching numbers, the Spanish alphabet, the first words of English, etc.
The teaching of English in Argentina is neither regular nor qualitative in public schools. Volunteers are always welcome to teach English in community centers or schools in Buenos Aires. Examples of assignments:
– Help organise lessons/prepare classrooms.
– Assist teachers (for current levels).
– Lead English lessons.
– Organise English conversation classes.

We see political activism as an indispensable tool for civic engagement, and as the only way to bring about change and achieve an egalitarian society. Volunteers participate in the education of children, adolescents and adults in different institutions and community centers.
Our NGO is accredited and a TIES member. Since its inception in 1990, TIES has been a governing body for ecotourism activities around the world. This organisation ensures that the standards and norms of responsibility and solidarity in tourism are applied by all its members.
