The GLOBAL REEF / SEAGONG / THAILAND MANGROVE ALLIANCE projects are significant, collaborative projects involving various organizations as well as local universities and marine biology and ecology specialists. These projects are characterized by the rigor of our research aimed at enriching general knowledge in marine biology and contributing to studies and articles validated by the scientific community.
By participating in this project, you contribute to research and its diffusion through studies and scientific articles.
Learn about the composition and organization of different coastal and marine ecosystems. This will lead us to coral reefs, which you will explore from various approaches to establish and continue ongoing research. You will do the same for coastal ecosystems.
Use and handle new equipment and analytical systems.
Familiarize yourself with the different organisms that make up these ecosystems, as well as the monitoring methods, to gain concrete knowledge and skills for your future studies or professional life.
For a typical day, hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but may be adjusted according to the type of research and weather conditions.
Individual scooter or bicycle rental for personal transportation.
Various additional activities, such as diving and hiking, are available.
The partner organization of Freepackers and Realstep emphasizes responsible engagement and biodiversity protection in Thailand.
Our partner organization prioritizes safety, knowledge-sharing, and the well-being of its volunteers once on-site, so they can optimize their learning and their experience with local communities, creating memorable memories of their mission and gaining new professional skills.
The fees charged by the association help fund operational services, on-site staff, volunteer expenses (meals, accommodation, transportation, activities), and a portion of the funds is directed to the projects themselves.
