Go to the south of Africa, in Cape Town or in the Kingdom of Eswatini, to carry out an internship in a humanitarian NGO with a team of professionals. Participate in various community projects by contributing your knowledge, and benefit from a field experience immersed in southern African culture. Your numerous exchanges with the locals, professionals, other interns and the team on site will only make this experience more enriching for you.

This internship will take you to either the bustling city of Cape Town (Hout Bay) or the mountainous Kingdom of Eswatini to work with our team to create photos and videos for marketing or fundraising purposes.
Whether you are looking to gain experience or add to the expertise you bring, we like to make this humanitarian NGO internship as beneficial as possible. That’s why we want to know in advance if you have a specific interest, experience, or goal to achieve by participating in this course.
Like all of our humanitarian internship programs, the project in South Africa allows you to gain university credits while making a positive and lasting impact on the local community.
An intern, while also unpaid, is different from a gap year volunteer in that they are expected to bring some knowledge and/or experience in the field in which they are working. There are fewer internship positions and competition for them is higher. Interns will work at a more strategic, career-oriented level and develop local ability to work effectively and meaningfully.
Interns are also expected to take on more responsibility and create their own goals and activities in which to integrate or lead. They will also have a mentor assigned to them to guide them during the internship.
Upon arrival, our team will accompany the trainees for the beginning of their internship. Our interns have a world of expertise to offer, but all objectives must be established with the in-country partner so that the results are sustainable even after the intern returns.
You will help build a stock of photos and videos for marketing and/or fundraising purposes. Your videos and photos will be used on our website, social media pages and other marketing materials.
By joining us, you are giving your time and skills to work directly with communities in need through a structured project. You will also receive orientation, a safe place to stay, logistical support, and clear expectations about the work you will do. That is why we charge a fee for the internship abroad.
7am : Breakfast
7:30 am: Drive to the project site and prepare for your day of training
8:00 a.m.: Participate in the designated project
12:30 pm : Either lunch at the accommodation or a packed lunch at the project
2:00 pm: Start of the afternoon’s work
4pm: Return to the accommodation and share your day with the other trainees
6:30 pm : Dinner !
Day 1: Meeting with the NGO, who will transfer you to your accommodation.
Day 2: Informative presentation, to brief you on everything you need to know about the culture and the country.
Day 3: Meeting with the team on site, who will accompany you to your internship for a smooth start to the process and to help you settle in. The aims of the internship should also be discussed and agreed upon on this day, so that you feel clear and focused on your humanitarian NGO internship.
Day 4: After your first meeting with your partner, it’s time to plan your week! Find out which days are best for you to get together to organise your schedule or move forward with your research.
The weekends are free, you can rest and discover the city through different activities!
