Housing is allocated by local NGOs, not by Freepackers - the descriptions are there to give you an idea of the type of accommodation, as it is very likely that conditions will vary on site depending on the number of volunteers, weather conditions, availability, etc. Each volunteer will be accommodated according to the stated conditions, but it is possible that the accommodation may not match the description or images shown on this site word for word, for example, in the case of annexed housing, renovations, relocations, etc.
4 nights in an international youth hostel on arrival, followed by accommodation with local people on a half-board basis for the next three weeks.
Once you've found a job :
With a high demand for work in the agricultural and catering sectors, accommodation is almost always arranged for seasonal jobs. Where accommodation is not included in the job offer, you'll be better off staying in a youth hostel or shared apartment. Once you have a contract to work in Australia, it will be easier to find long-term, more affordable accommodation.
Living and working conditions in Australia are excellent. Many Australian cities frequently feature in the Top 10 best places to live, due to the balance between work and social life, the environment, social security, the economy and overall quality of life.
All Working Holiday Visa (or PVT) applications are made online directly from the Australian Government Immigration Service website.
For all international projects, Real-step requires travel insurance to cover accident, illness, repatriation and civil liability.
Please note that liability insurance is included in the insurance policies of our partner Chapka Cap Student, and Cap Working Holiday as it is compulsory for internships and studies abroad. If you take out your Cap Student or Cap Working Holiday insurance online with our partner Chapka, you'll receive an immediate 5% discount by clicking on one of the 2 links above!
If you take out other travel insurance, we will ask you to send us a certificate in English.
