Program description

You will either be in the bustling Cape Town or in the heart of the mountains in the kingdom of Zwaziland for your gap year in South Africa. You will join our team of professionals, and participate in the creation of videos, photos for marketing purposes or for fundraising campaigns.

Before going to the project site, you will benefit from English lessons for a month in order to improve your language skills, to live the most enriching experience possible afterwards. You can already visit the city of Cape Town during your free time. You will be accommodated in a youth hostel with other volunteers.

Before starting the mission, keep us informed of your past experiences, your interest in photography so that we can offer you the most rewarding project possible for your gap year in South Africa.

Like all of our programs combining gap year and work , this project in South Africa offers theoretical training as well as practical experience within a local structure, to allow you to obtain a complete professionalizing experience.

The role of participants:

The on-site team accompanies you throughout the project, and will make you discover their expertise. The objectives must be established at the beginning of the mission with the partner, so that the impact is lasting, that the results persist even after your departure.

For marketing strategies or fundraising campaigns, you will help build stock photos and videos. These will also be used on our partner’s site, for its social networks and other marketing materials.

Concretely you can participate in:

  • A photography project
  • The creation of “trailer” videos of our partner’s projects, on the website
  • The creation of photo/video blogs of your experience
  • An interview with the team, or on-site staff about their experiences

This is an opportunity to acquire professional experience in the field by also contributing to the well-being of communities, by setting up structured projects by carrying out your gap year in South Africa. On your arrival, you take part in an orientation day to discover the city, before being taken to your accommodation, where you will be accommodated throughout the project.
