We cared for various animals on site, including dispensing medication and feeding. We also performed several check-ups on monkeys, by monitoring anesthesia, performing clinical examinations and injections.
In addition, we performed autopsies on various animals to determine the cause of death.
Finally, we accompanied the vets during zebra captures in the reserve, in order to move them to another reserve to diversify their genetics.
This project allowed me to discover many aspects of the wildlife veterinary profession. I learned a lot, both about the care to be provided and the techniques used, as well as about wildlife management in Malawi. The team was extremely benevolent and accompanied us as we discovered the country, which was very enriching.
I totally recommend this project. The on-site team accompanies us throughout our mission, making us feel very secure, and the atmosphere is very happy! The site of the sanctuary is incredible. What's more, we get to perform real veterinary procedures throughout the course. The team is educational, and we learn a lot alongside them.
I totally recommend RealStep. The team was able to advise us throughout the organization of our trip and alwaysresponded quickly to our questions. Their availability and efficiency were real assets.
