This internship with a marine conservation NGO gave me the opportunity to work on saving sea turtles. I was able to work with people from all over the world (English, Italian, German, Canadian, Spanish, American). As a result, I was able to improve my English considerably and progress in my missions as the weeks went by, becoming more and more autonomous.
This would be the birth of turtles!
I'm not back to school yet so I haven't validated my internship but I have to do a report. I will need scientific documents on our role on the turtle population (annual figures, organization chart of the NGO....), I will certainly come back to you for this information soon.
With regard to the services offered :
- pre-departure information: 5/5
- registration process: 5/5
- Supervision / project coordinators: 5/5 super
- Volunteers' and trainees' schedules: 4/5 (getting up at 5:30 every morning is tiring in the long run :)
- Catering and accommodation: 3/5 (better catering when there were few volunteers...)
I'd recommend this project because it's a great experience, with a good atmosphere and interesting work, from discovering the nests to giving birth to the turtles. I would also recommend RealStep for the organization, and the perfect connection with the NGO.
