I went to Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, on a cetacean conservation mission!
On site, I was given three main missions:
On a personal level, this project has enabled me to feel useful within society and in the protection of endangered species, but also to meet people from all over the world and visit an area rich in biodiversity.
Both academically and professionally, I was able to acquire new knowledge in the field of marine biology and conservation (a field in which I'd like to work in the future), which may make the difference in my future job applications.
I 100% recommend this mission for those who want to do something for our planet while getting up close and personal with marine mammals.
Real Step helped me in my internship search and took into account all my requests. Their strong point is their proximity to us, which makes it easier and more fluid to complete the application process, which is often quite long and complex with other organizations.
