If you're not taking part in an exchange program (e.g. Erasmus), you may be able to obtain alternative financial aid. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for example, offers the Universe program of "language scholarships", awarded to students at bac +2 level who wish to do an internship abroad of between 2 weeks and 6 months.
The International Mobility Grant is designed for students wishing to undertake higher education abroad or an international internship, and enables them to obtain a grant to study abroad.
Students must submit a request for mobility assistance to their school's international relations department. The duration of the training or internship must be between 2 and 9 consecutive months.
For the 2022-2023 academic year, the amount of assistance is €400 per month. The assistance consists of a minimum of 2 monthly payments and a maximum of 9 monthly payments. Before your departure abroad, the school will inform you of the amount of aid allocated to you. Throughout your higher education studies, you may receive mobility assistance several times.
Contact your regional council, which, depending on your status, will offer co-financing for your mobility in Europe. The regions support young people's mobility, and work with job centres to help them understand the job market and "hot" jobs.
