Learning about marine conservation in the Seychelles

Learning about marine conservation in the Seychelles

Medhi turned to Realstep to learn about the different ways of conserving the marine ecosystem. Here's her review of her 2-week volunteer experience in the Seychelles.

This experience in the Seychelles was very gratifying for me, because it enabled me to step out of my comfort zone, to do things I wasn't used to doing at all, and to learn a lot about myself in the process. Of course, I learned new things about the country and its culture, as well as about the environment and local flora and fauna, during all the activities I took part in during the month I spent there.

My best memories are of the people I met there, and the human experiences and adventures I had with them. All the laughter and difficulties we went through together are clearly things I'll remember for a long time.

Pre-departure information: 5/5
Registration process: 4/5
Supervision: 4/5
Timetable: 4/5
Food and accommodation: 3/5

I would recommend this project to anyone who is not afraid to leave the comfort of their home and who is willing to make physical and mental efforts to go on an adventure and live this unique experience.

Realstep supported me well throughout the registration process and before departure. They were available to answer all my questions so, yes, I would recommend them.
