Alix – Construction project in Nepal

Alix recounts her first steps on the construction project in Nepal

My arrival went very smoothly, with someone picking me up directly from the airport. The house is not far from the airport. I must have arrived at the volunteer house around 10pm, and was able to shower and eat.

On the first day (Sunday), the team gave me a very warm welcome, with a presentation of Nepal and a booklet with a few words I needed to know in Nepali.

Then one of the team took me for a walk around the neighborhood to show me where I could go shopping if I needed to.

During my first week, I went to the construction site on my motorcycle... The traffic here is crazy! But it was a superb adventure.

I also had the opportunity to go and see the project of another volunteer in the house, and I went to help disabled children with her. It was a very enriching experience in human terms!

For my first weekend I set off to discover the city of Kathmandu.
The house is comfortable and the people really lovely.
